The Mouthpiece of the Gods: Reconstructive Music Archaeology

John Kenny

John Kenny founded Carnyx & Co with Ian Ritchie in 1997. This practical seminar looks at the unique interface it has established between musical archaeology and the world of contemporary performance and recording, with particular reference to the reconstruction of both the Tintignac Carnyx from France, and the Etruscan litus and cornu. It will show how these magnificent instruments of the European Iron Age are now all fully functional and finding their 21st Century voices. No formal musical training is necessary!
